SBI Card appears to be focused on signing up new customers, similar to Reliance Jio’s initial rollout; however, due to insufficient infrastructure or investment, SBI does not provide necessary customer service post signup.
SBI Card, India’s second-largest credit card provider, plans to surpass HDFC as the premier lender within two years by aggressively recruiting new customers. HDFC customers who have had their card for at least 12 months are nearly certain candidates for an SBI credit card; just send your Aadhaar and PAN information via WhatsApp and receive it shortly thereafter after being verified through televerification.
I have personally encountered multiple issues with SBI Card:
Signup gift voucher terms were unclear, leading to difficulty redeeming them; I also experienced receiving an ineffective water purifier after redeeming reward points through SBI Rewards Store; third-party services always called or texted me about payments due even when paid before due dates – yet the SBI Rewards Store kept reminding me about payments!
After fulfilling all requirements for Trident Privilege Membership, being politely denied was disconcerting.
